Presented by Uprising Promotions and McDonald Worley Law Firm, Fight Around and Find Out went down this past Saturday at Terminal 5 in New York City. And from the opening bell to the final round, the card lived up to its name. A packed house was treated to 11 bouts of compelling amateur boxing, all in support of NYPD Cops & Kids Boxing, a privately funded youth mentoring and boxing program that has been shaping young lives across New York City since 1985.
The night carried an energy that went well beyond a typical fight card. Five active NYPD officers stepped into the ring, each bringing a competitive fire that resonated deeply with the crowd. Bout after bout, the fighters delivered, and the audience at Terminal 5 made sure they knew it.
“The fights were awesome. This was one of the most competitive cards we’ve had in a long time,” said Ronson Frank, President of Uprising Promotions. “These guys were evenly matched and going back and forth all night. We had NYPD officers going up against civilians, Michael Carter-Williams performed well, and the crowd loved every minute of it. I was really pleased with the turnout and what these fighters brought to the ring.”
Headlining the night was the long-awaited ring return of former NBA Rookie of the Year Michael Carter-Williams, who had been sidelined by illness ahead of his scheduled appearance at Uprising Promotions’ Rumble on the River in May. On Saturday night, he made up for lost time. Carter-Williams faced a very game Nakpodia Umujane in an entertaining bout that had the crowd on its feet, earning the victory and proving once again that his commitment to boxing is no passing interest.
“I hadn’t fought since last year, so it was good to knock the rust off,” said Carter-Williams. “I went out there and had fun in front of my friends and my family. My coaches did a great job of preparing me, so I just went out there and had a good time. That’s it!”

All proceeds from the evening benefited NYPD Cops & Kids Boxing, which operates free gyms across New York City’s five boroughs and has helped thousands of inner-city teens find discipline, community, and a positive path forward through the sport of boxing.
“I have to give a huge shout out to McDonald Worley. These guys are the real deal,” Frank continued. “They are investing back in the community and genuinely trying to make a difference for kids. Every dollar raised went back to NYPD Cops and Kids, and that means everything to us. Honestly, this one moved me. It gave me a real sense of purpose in what we do. It was a lot of hard work, but seeing the fruits of our labor, knowing that we are all working together to get these kids off the street and into the boxing gym, that’s what it is all about. We want to keep building on this.”
Uprising Promotions extends its sincere thanks to McDonald Worley Law Firm for their partnership and commitment to making a meaningful impact in the New York City community, and to USA Boxing for sanctioning the event.
