Uzbekistan junior welterweight Jamshidbek Najmitdinov (17-1, 14 KOs), who is co-promoted by Uprising Promotions and Banner Promotions, is set to make his long-awaited American debut tonight when he faces Will Madera (16-1-3, 9 KOs) at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

“We are very excited about Jamshidbek making his U.S. debut. He has a real fan-friendly style that the fight fans in Brooklyn will definitely enjoy,” said Ronson Frank, President of Uprising Promotions. “Jamshidbek has a tough opponent in front of him tonight, but we know he trained extremely hard in preparation for this challenge. It has been a pleasure working with Artie Pelullo and Banner Promotions in the co-promotion of Jamshidbek, and we look forward to watching a great performance from him this evening at Barclays Center.”

Najmitdinov rattled off 10 consecutive wins to start his professional career, which earned him a marquee match-up with former WBC Super Lightweight World Champion Viktor Postol in 2017. The Uzbekistan native dropped Postol with a powerful left hand in the fifth round that put him on shaky legs for the rest of the frame, but Postol was able to survive and eventually edged out the decision victory. Since that contest, Najmitdinov has won seven consecutive bouts, including six stoppages. Most recently, he finished Merab Turkadze in the fifth round this past June in Tashkent, the capital city of Uzbekistan.

The man who will be standing opposite of Najmitdinov tonight is Will Madera, whose only defeat came at the hands of Felix Verdejo in the summer of 2020. The New York native last fought this past April when he stopped Iram Julian Rodriguez in Monterrey, Mexico.

Najmitdinov hit the scales at 139.8 pounds on Friday, while Madera weighed in at 139.4 pounds. This fight will be part of TrillerVerz III and can be seen live on FITE TV and TrillerFightClub.com starting at 6 PM ET.
