New Jersey Youth Soccer recently supported the InterCounty Youth Soccer League (ICYSL) Fun Fest, which is an end of season event that featured U9 Boys and U9 Girls Teams in a family-friendly environment. Through events such as the ICYSL Fun Fest, NJ Youth Soccer is proud to promote grassroots soccer and help young players enjoy pure participation in the game.
“This event was a celebration of the effort these players have put in all season to improve their abilities,” said Rick Meana, NJYS Director of Coaching. “The ICYSL is a great example of how recreation soccer creates a fun environment for the kids to enjoy the game.”
The ICYSL is a federation of town soccer clubs that play in a recreational setting, with roughly 200 teams competing in age groups that range from U8, U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18. Additionally, the ICYSL limits its membership to Central New Jersey in order to reduce the amount of travel that is required for games. The overlying objective of the league is for its participants to have fun, play the game and always practice good sportsmanship.
“Our strength lies in our volunteers,” said Rohit Simeon, ICYSL President. “We could not put together a quality program without their support and passion for the sport.”
