The Connecticut Junior Soccer Association (CJSA) crowned champions in the Connecticut Cup Presented by DICK’S Sporting Goods this past Saturday at Tunxis Mead Fields in Farmington. The Connecticut Cup is made available to teams playing in the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association that meet residency requirements.
“We want to congratulate all of the finalists and champions who competed in our Connecticut Cup Finals,” said Josh Krusewski, Executive Director of the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association. “This past week concludes what has been a great season for our teams, and we thank everyone involved for contributing to that success. We look forward to kicking off another season in the fall.”
Connecticut Cup Finals were played in the 11U to 15U age groups for both boys and girls teams. Additionally, champions were decided in the 17U Girls, 19U Boys and 19U Girls Divisions. All but two Connecticut Cup Finals were played on Saturday, with a pair of matches being delayed due to Avon SC Crush 12U Girls and Simsbury SC Comets 15U Girls competing in the US Youth Soccer Eastern Presidents Cup last week in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. Both teams have since made up those games and became Connecticut Cup champions after winning their rescheduled matches.
