Following a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Council Rock United FC on Wednesday, CT Rush Select 2006 has officially punched its ticket to the 17U Boys Final of the US Youth Soccer Eastern Regional Championships. Kickoff for that match is set for 10:00 AM on Thursday morning, as CT Rush takes on Dix Hills SC Ultimatum B2006 of New York East.

In the semifinals of the Eastern Regional Championships, CT Rush Select was joined by fellow CJSA club Danbury AC Connecticut B09 (14U Boys). The tournament run for Danbury AC Connecticut came to a close on Wednesday following a narrow defeat to FC Europa 2009 Elite of Eastern Pennsylvania. The State of Connecticut has been incredibly well represented throughout the Eastern Regionals, with 10 CJSA teams advancing past group play and into the quarterfinals of the competition. The event features the most accomplished US Youth Soccer teams in the Eastern Region and is currently being hosted in Loudoun County, Virginia.

“We are really proud of how well our state has been represented at the Eastern Regional Championships. All of our teams have performed well,” said Josh Krusewski, Executive Director of the Connecticut Junior Soccer Association. “We also want to congratulate both the AC Connecticut 14U Boys and CT Rush 17U Boys on reaching the semifinals, which is a truly incredible accomplishment. Next up, all eyes are on the CT Rush 17U Boys in the championship on Thursday. The entire State of Connecticut will be cheering for you.”

Teams competing at the Eastern Regionals are seeking a berth to the 2023 US Youth Soccer National Championships, which will be hosted from July 17-23 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida. The USYS National Championship Series is the country’s most prestigious national youth soccer tournament, providing winners from each state the opportunity to showcase their soccer skills against the best competition in the nation while emphasizing teamwork, discipline and fair play.
