FC Sportika, which is the soccer division of Sportika Sports, enjoyed a highly successful fall season this year, with widespread accomplishments occurring across all age groups. As FC Sportika heads into the upcoming winter season, the entire team at Sportika Sports shares its pride and appreciation for all that the program has achieved in 2017.
“As we look back on 2017, and in particular our fall season, we could not be more grateful for all of our players and families for their commitment to FC Sportika,” said Wayne Price, Managing Director of Sportika Soccer Operations & Academy Director for FC Sportika. “All of our teams, regardless of age, gender or level, had a wonderful showing this season, and every player should be congratulated and praised. We cannot wait to get started in 2018 for winter, first and foremost, and then onto the spring. I look forward to our continued success together as the FC Sportika Academy Family.”
During the fall, FC Sportika teams earned first place finishes at prestigious competitions such as the Needham Tournament in Boston and the EDP Fall Kickoff Tournaments, as well as securing championships in both EDP and APL league play. The FC Sportika U11, U12 and U14 boys teams each ended the year as the no. 1 ranked teams in the state, while also achieving incredible national rankings of no. 2, no. 3 and no. 25 overall. Additionally, the U13 boys team is ranked a very credible no. 14 in New Jersey. Each girls program at FC Sportika also continued to flourish in 2017, with its U11 team achieving a first-time state ranking of no. 6.
FC Sportika Academy soccer clinics were a fantastic success this fall, with over 100 players participating in the newly launched FC Sportika Futsal Technical Development Program. Additionally, the FC Sportika Youth Development Program, which is catered towards players age 3-7 (or Pre-Travel ages), has expanded to more than 75 participants, ensuring that the future generation of players is in very capable hands with the highly qualified coaching staff at FC Sportika. Another exciting development is the FC Sportika Futsal Academy, which will begin play in January. Training sessions will be held on Thursdays at Sportika Sports, with league play being held at The Peddie School in Hightstown on Sundays during its eight-week Winter Select Program.
“We are extremely proud of the progress of our Soccer Academy,” said Jeffrey L. Jordan, CEO of Sportika Sports. “In four short years, we have not only grown from five teams to 25, but we now have three no. 1 teams in the State of New Jersey that are currently ranked no. 2, no. 3, and no. 25 in the USA as a whole. In addition to our Boys Academy, our Girls Academy, which started just two years ago, is growing at an amazing pace, and the quality of play has been outstanding. In addition to celebrating the success of our state and nationally ranked teams, it brings me joy to see the success of our youth development program where we are introducing the game of soccer to kids as young as three-years-old. Combine this with the explosion of our Futsal Academy, and the future is extremely bright for FC Sportika.”
