Anzalone to Be Formally Honored at NJYS Awards Dinner on Friday

New Jersey Youth Soccer will be hosting its 30th Annual Awards Dinner this Friday, February 2nd, where it will honor many players, coaches and members of the soccer community. One of those honorees will be Joe Anzalone, who has been selected as the recipient of the 2017 NJYS Distinguished Service Award.

Beginning in 1977, Anzalone has performed in many different roles during his 40-plus years of serving the New Jersey Youth Soccer community. 28 of those years have been spent coaching at both the recreational and travel levels. Over his tenure, he has also served in administrative roles where he used his platform to make a positive impact on the community.

Anzalone previously served as the Vice President of Travel for Montville Soccer Association before working as the Games Chairman and then President for the Morris County Youth Soccer Association. During that time, he concurrently served as the President of The Soccer Foundation where he developed soccer-specific scholarships for worthy recipients. Most recently, Anzalone has served on the NJYS Board of Directors in various roles such as North Area Recreation Commissioner and Treasurer, while he has also been a member of the Discipline Committee. Further, he currently sits as the Scholarships Chairman on the Morris County Youth Soccer Association Board.
