Naugatuck Youth Soccer Advances to 15U Eastern Presidents Cup Final

The Naugatuck Youth Soccer Boys 2008 will be playing in the 15U Eastern Presidents Cup Final this morning after defeating Arlington SA 2008B White in the semifinals via penalty kicks on Monday. By advancing to the 15U Final, the Naugatuck Youth Soccer Boys 2008 have officially punched their ticket to the National Presidents Cup that will take place next month in Wichita, Kansas.

The Naugatuck Youth Soccer Boys 2008 have now won all four of their matches at the Eastern Presidents Cup, which is being hosted by US Youth Soccer in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania. Prior to edging Arlington SA 2008B White in the semifinals, they won their opening round bracket after earning three consecutive victories and outscoring the opposition, 7-1.

The Naugatuck Youth Soccer Boys 2008 now look for one more win when they face Southern Chester County SA Dragons B08 of Eastern Pennsylvania Youth Soccer in the 15U Eastern Presidents Cup Championship, with kickoff slated for 11:45 AM. Today marks the second time that these two teams have faced each other at this tournament. In their first meeting, Naugatuck earned a 1-0 victory in the opening match of group play.

Three additional Connecticut Junior Soccer Association teams also reached the Eastern Presidents Cup Semifinals on Monday. The Farmington SC Girls 2010 (13U Girls) were narrowly defeated by Central Susquehanna SC CSSC Phoenix 10 (PAE), while the Simsbury SC Comets (15U Girls) fell to Loudoun Soccer 2008G Red (VA). Bridgeport Premier FC 04/05 (19U Boys) also saw their tournament run come to a close following a loss to Team America 04 BATA (VA).
