NJ Youth Soccer Enjoys Record Attendance at 2019 Awards Dinner

More than 900 Guests Attended the 31st Annual NJYS Awards Dinner at the Pines Manor in Edison

New Jersey Youth Soccer hosted its 31st Annual NJYS Awards Dinner presented by RWJBarnabas Health over the weekend, where many players, coaches and members of the soccer community were on hand for the celebration. With more than 900 guests in attendance at the Pines Manor in Edison, N.J., the 2019 event was the largest in its 31-year history.

Among the many highlights of the evening were the induction of long-time The College of New Jersey women’s soccer head coach Joe Russo into the NJYS Hall of Fame, while New Jersey native and professional player Yael Averbuch also delivered a powerful keynote address to a full room of engaged spectators.

Many volunteers, coaches, players and scholarship winners were honored throughout the night with awards that were provided by Wilson Trophy, the official supplier of NJ Youth Soccer and US Youth Soccer. Attendants from the US Soccer Federation and US Youth Soccer were among the guests at the event, and college soccer coaches from local universities such as Rutgers University, Rider University, Monmouth University, Rowan University and TCNJ were also in attendance. Additionally, more than 20 state, regional and national champion teams were celebrated with special presentations, as were ODP coaches and regional players.

Door prizes and on-site activation were further highlights of the evening, with RWJBarnabas Health, adidas, Sky Blue FC, New York Red Bulls, Philadelphia Union, JAG-ONE Physical Therapy, Stack Sports, Microsoft, Soccer Post, Topps Trading Cards, US Soccer, Major League Soccer, iPlay America, Sips & Kicks and GraceChurch being among the presenting sponsors.
