NJ Youth Soccer and Topps Team Up to Celebrate State Cups Champions

NJYS State Cup

New Jersey Youth Soccer is teaming up with Topps once again this spring to celebrate its State Cups champions. Each member of the NJYS National Championship Series, Presidents Cup and Challenge Cup championship teams will receive a custom trading card featuring a team selected image.

“We are very pleased to continue this partnership with Topps Trading Cards,” said Evan Dabby, Executive Director of NJ Youth Soccer. “Topps has been very supportive of our initiative to celebrate each of our State Cup champions, and their commemorative cards are a great memento for teams to remember their achievement.”

This initiative continues a successful program that began in early 2017 where NJYS State Cups championship teams earned a commemorative Topps® card to recognize their achievement. The front of the card will have the team name and picture, and the back of each card will show the club logo with a team note of their personal choice. The cards will possess the same quality, look and feel of the Topps® MLS cards that feature the stars of Major League Soccer.

“Our partnership with NJ Youth Soccer has become a great tradition through the celebration of NJYS State Cups champions,” said Jeff Heckman, Global Director of E-Commerce at Topps. “The designation of becoming a State Cup champion is a significant accomplishment for these players, and we are happy that Topps can help them preserve that memory through our custom trading cards.”

Registration for NJYS State Cups this spring is now open.

The National Championship Series is the country’s most prestigious national youth soccer tournament. It provides winners from each state with the opportunity to play against the best competition in the nation while emphasizing teamwork, discipline and fair play. NJYS National Championship Series winners at the 12U age group and above will advance to the 2021 US Youth Soccer Eastern Regional Championships, which will be hosted in Hammonton, New Jersey.

The Presidents Cup offers participants a platform to play against teams of similar abilities for a national title. It provides a progressive, high-level experience while focusing on competition, camaraderie and community at the state, regional and even national levels of US Youth Soccer. Winners of the NJYS Presidents Cup at the 12U level and above will advance to the 2021 US Youth Soccer East Region Presidents Cup in Barboursville and Charleston, West Virginia, from June 19 to June 23, 2021.

The Challenge Cup (previously branded as the Commissioners Cup) is the NJYS State Cup that attracts the most teams and provides a third-tier state competition. This tournament hosts travel teams in the 11U to 19U age groups. This state-only tournament is designed to create a challenging and enjoyable event for teams that do not play in the National Championship Series or Presidents Cup.
