New Jersey Youth Soccer hosted its 32nd Annual NJYS Awards Dinner presented by RWJBarnabas Health over the weekend, where many players, coaches and members of the soccer community were on hand for the celebration at the Pines Manor in Edison, N.J. With more than 900 guests in attendance, the event saw record breaking attendance for a fourth consecutive year.
Among the many highlights of the evening were the induction of former New Jersey ODP and current Rutgers Women’s Soccer head coach Mike O’Neill into the NJYS Hall of Fame, while New Jersey native and former Major League Soccer All-Star Alecko Eskandarian delivered a powerful keynote address to a full room of engaged spectators.
Many volunteers, coaches, players and scholarship winners were honored throughout the night with awards that were provided by Wilson Trophy, the official supplier of NJ Youth Soccer and US Youth Soccer. Additionally, representatives from the New York Red Bulls, Philadelphia Union and Sky Blue FC were among the attendees at the event. Further, more than 20 state, regional and national champion teams were celebrated with special presentations, as were ODP coaches, regional and national training camp players.
Door prizes and on-site activation were further highlights of the evening with adidas, US Soccer, US Youth Soccer, JAG-ONE Physical Therapy, New York Red Bulls, Philadelphia Union, Sky Blue FC, KiDz HuB, Topps Trading Cards, BodyArmor, Grace Church Associates, Sips & Kicks, Microsoft, TD Bank, Kwik Goal and Soccer Post being amongst the partners and donors.
