Pair of Connecticut Teams Advance to Eastern Regional Semifinals

A pair of Connecticut Junior Soccer Association (CJSA) teams have advanced to the semifinals of the US Youth Soccer (USYS) Eastern Regional Championships, which are being played on Wednesday morning in Loudoun County, Virginia. Danbury AC Connecticut B09 USYS NL (14U Boys) is facing FC Europa 2009 Elite of Eastern Pennsylvania, while CT Rush Select 2006 (17U Boys) is taking on Council Rock United FC Bucks DOMINION 2006 of Eastern Pennsylvania.

The Eastern Regional Championships feature the most accomplished US Youth Soccer teams in the Eastern Region. The State of Connecticut has been incredibly well represented at the regional tournament, with 10 CJSA teams advancing past group play and into the quarterfinals of the competition.

Teams competing at the Eastern Regionals are seeking a berth to the 2023 US Youth Soccer National Championships, which will be hosted from July 17-23 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida. The USYS National Championship Series is the country’s most prestigious national youth soccer tournament, providing winners from each state the opportunity to showcase their soccer skills against the best competition in the nation while emphasizing teamwork, discipline and fair play.
