Super Bowl Champion Fred Baxter Appearing for Fan Photos and Autographs

Peter Grandich and Company announced that it will be sponsoring a Turkey Trot Race at the Freehold Raceway on the day after Thanksgiving. Additionally, Super Bowl champion and Trinity Board Member Fred Baxter will be on hand to sign autographs and take photos with fans in attendance.

“Having first travelled in my youth from the Bronx to Freehold in the 70s, as both an owner and fan of standardbreds off and on for decades, Freehold is literally my ‘home’ track as I reside in the township,” said Peter Grandich, Managing Member of Peter Grandich & Company. “My wife and I have sponsored the annual Irish Drivers Race in March and hope this Turkey Trot Race can also become an annual event we would be honored to sponsor.”

Freehold Raceway was established in 1853 and features live standardbred harness racing for trotters and pacers. The Turkey Trot Race sponsored by Peter Grandich and Company will be held at Freehold Raceway as part of a special post-Thanksgiving showcase. In addition to the appearance by Fred Baxter, Peter Grandich and Company will also provide numerous sports memorabilia items for drawing that afternoon.

“We are excited to once again team up with Peter Grandich and Company for this special event,” said Howard Bruno, General Manager of Freehold Raceway. “Peter’s events are always first class, and his passion for sports and harness racing is sure to bring our fans another memorable day.”

A graduate of Auburn University, Fred Baxter enjoyed an 11-year career in the National Football League (NFL) after being drafted by the New York Jets in 1993. After eight seasons with the Jets, Baxter made a stop with the Chicago Bears before finishing off his professional campaign with the New England Patriots. In his final season, Baxter capped off his career by winning a Super Bowl with the Patriots in 2003.
