Real Jersey FC 14U Boys Win Regional Championship, Advance to USYS National Championships

New Jersey Youth Soccer wrapped up a great showing this week at the 2018 US Youth Soccer Eastern Regional Championships in Spotsylvania, Va., with seven teams advancing to the Finals for their respective age groups.

“Seeing seven teams advance to the finals was a great accomplishment and speak volumes about the quality of teams and players in NJ Youth Soccer,” said Evan Dabby, Executive Director of NJ Youth Soccer. “I watched those seven teams in the finals and they competed well enough to be regional champions. However, as we know at this stage, a 50/50 ball or awkward bounce is often the different between 1st and 2nd place.”

Emerging as Eastern Regional champions in their age division were the Real Jersey FC 14U Boys. Using stellar defense throughout the tournament, Real Jersey FC never gave up a goal in Eastern Regional play and outscored their opponents by a collective tally of 9-0. In the championship match, Real Jersey FC used a pair of second half goals to defeat Arlington SA Red 04 (Virginia), 2-0. By winning the 14U title, Real Jersey FC earned a berth to the 2018 US Youth Soccer National Championships, which will be played from July 23-29 at the Toyota Soccer Center in Frisco, Texas.

Additionally, the Princeton Soccer Association 18U Girls, SJEB Rush 16U Girls and PDA Shore Freedom 15U Girls teams also advanced to the 2018 US Youth Soccer National Championships by virtue of winning their respective US Youth Soccer National League divisions.
