Head Coach Denise Reddy Completes Coaching Staff with the Addition of Nemzer and Ancin

Sky Blue FC of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) announced two additions to its coaching staff today, with the team bringing aboard Joe Nemzer and Lubos Ancin as assistants to head coach Denise Reddy.

“We are very excited about adding these two highly professional coaches to our staff,” said Reddy. “Joe is a very ambitious coach who brings a multi-faceted background to Sky Blue FC that includes time as a head coach, assistant coach and goalkeeper coach. His wide range of experience will be very beneficial to us. I have worked with Lubos in the past, and he is a top-level goalkeeper coach. Not only is he a great professional, he is also a great human. I am really looking forward to working with him again.”

Nemzer arrives at Sky Blue FC after spending the past two seasons as the head coach at Mount St. Mary’s University, a Division I program located in Emmitsburg, Md. He brings further head coaching experience to the club by means of leading Team USA Women’s Soccer to the Gold Medal in the 2015 European Maccabi Games in Berlin, Germany. Team USA did not concede a single goal throughout that entire tournament.

A graduate of Penn State Abington, Nemzer also brings a wealth of assistant coaching experience to Sky Blue FC. He first enjoyed a two-year stint at the University of Alabama in Huntsville from 2009-10 before spending a pair of seasons at Ottawa University in Kansas. He next moved across the state for three years at Division II program Fort Hays State University, and he then served as an assistant coach at Central Michigan University (Division I) from 2013-16. Additionally, Nemzer has also coached at various levels within the U.S. Youth Soccer system.

Ancin has spent the past four seasons as an assistant coach for the women’s soccer program at Rutgers University, where he was charged with leading a goalkeeper corps that included recent Sky Blue FC draftee and U.S. U-20 Women’s National Team starter Casey Murphy. Additionally, he serves as Co-Director of Coaching for Goalkeepers at the Players Development Academy (PDA) and as the goalkeeper coach of Sky Blue – PDA, which is a U.S. Soccer Girls Development Academy partner of Sky Blue FC.

A former Rutgers goalkeeper as a player, Ancin immediately went into coaching after his collegiate career. He first served as an assistant head coach at the Paul Blodgett Goalkeeper Training School from 2004-14, and he brings additional experience as the assistant goalkeeper coach for the New Jersey Wildcats (USL W-League) and Robert Reasso Soccer School. Originally from Slovakia, Ancin moved to New Jersey in 2001. He was a member of the Slovakia Youth National Team while growing-up in his native country, and he also backstopped his club team to the Slovakian National Championship in 2000-01.
