Sky Blue FC Hosts Seattle Reign FC on April 15 at Yurcak Field
The National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) officially announced today its home openers for the upcoming season of play. Sky Blue FC will make its 2018 home debut when it hosts Seattle Reign FC at Yurcak Field for a 5:00 p.m. kickoff on Sunday, April 15.
The NWSL will once again play a 24-game schedule for the 2018 season, with teams playing 12 home and 12 road matches. The 2018 NWSL regular season will officially kick-off during the weekend of March 24 and culminate the weekend of September 8-9. The playoffs will commence the following weekend, with semifinal games being played from September 14-16 and the championship taking place on Saturday, September 22.
The 2018 Sky Blue FC Preseason Presented by Sportika Sports will begin this Monday at Sportika’s state-of-the-art facility in Manalapan, N.J. Sky Blue FC will play four preseason matches at Sportika Sports, beginning with a 6:00 p.m. kickoff against Penn State University on Saturday, Feb. 24. Next on the slate is a 3:00 p.m. meeting with the University of North Carolina on Saturday, March 3, followed up by a 1:00 p.m. contest against West Virginia University on Saturday, March 10. Sky Blue FC will then conclude its preseason docket when it welcomes St. John’s University into Sportika Sports for a 2:00 p.m. kickoff on Sunday, March 18.
All four Sky Blue FC preseason matches will be open to the public, and admission to attend will be free. Sportika Sports, which is the presenting sponsor of the 2018 Sky Blue FC Preseason, is located at 150 Woodward Road in Manalapan, N.J.
