Sky Blue FC (0-0-1, 1 point) of the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) announced today that it has formulated an official partnership with the New Jersey Girls Soccer Coaches Association (NJGSCA), which is a statewide organization dedicated to the promotion and development of girls’ high school soccer in New Jersey.

“We are very pleased to officially embark upon this partnership with the New Jersey Girls Soccer Coaches Association,” said Tony Novo, Sky Blue FC President & General Manager. “The NJGSCA plays a pivotal role in the development of the beautiful game throughout the State of New Jersey, and this relationship enables us to align in our efforts to continue that growth. We look forward to working together with the NJGSCA on a variety of initiatives that will prove to be beneficial for both organizations, and most importantly the game of soccer itself.”

The NJGSCA was established in 1989 by a group of dedicated girls’ soccer coaches. Only 10 coaches were members upon the creation of the NJGSCA, but that number has now grown to more 120 coaches throughout the State of New Jersey. The NJGSCA is focused upon the development of girls’ high school soccer, recognizing worthy female soccer players at various levels of NJGSCA All-State Teams. More than 5,000 players having been recognized since its inception. The NJGSCA has a direct association with the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA), and more than 100 of its players have received NSCAA All-America accolades. Additionally, several New Jersey high school coaches have collected NSCAA National Coach of the Year honors, while numerous teams have earned the NSCAA High School Academic Award.

“The NJGSCA is pleased to announce a partnership between our organization and Sky Blue FC,” said Jamie McGroarty, NJGSCA President. “This is an opportunity for the NJGSCA to promote our mission; which is to grow the game of soccer, enhance coaching education and promote the thousands of amazing New Jersey high school girls’ soccer players. It is also an opportunity for our member coaches and players to become a part of and interact with a first-class professional women’s soccer organization in Sky Blue FC.”

As part of the alliance, all NJGSCA members will be able to take advantage of a High School Partnership Package that grants them exclusive benefits from Sky Blue FC. The two groups are also working together to establish a Coaching Education Seminar for NJGSCA members that will take part during the NWSL season. An additional component of the relationship includes a bi-monthly soccer tips offering that will be sponsored by the NJGSCA.
