Kickoff is Set for 7:00 p.m. on Saturday Night at Yurcak Field

Sky Blue FC (0-6-1, 1 point) will return to National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) action on Saturday, hosting Seattle Reign FC (4-2-2, 14 points) at Yurcak Field in Piscataway, N.J. The match-up, which is presented by Coach USA, gets underway at 7:00 p.m., and tickets are available now online or by calling 888-SBFC-TIX (888-723-2849).

This contest marks the third game in eight days for both clubs. In the first of its past two matches, Sky Blue FC fell to the top-ranked North Carolina Courage last Saturday night at Yurcak Field. The Courage jumped out to a 2-0 lead behind goals from Crystal Dunn and Samantha Mewis, but Carli Lloyd made it a 2-1 contest by scoring a stoppage time rocket in the second half. The tally was ultimately voted as the NWSL Goal of the Week.

The New Jersey club then returned to action this past Wednesday night when it traveled to the Maryland SoccerPlex to take on the Washington Spirit. In a hard-fought contest, Sky Blue FC came out on the wrong side of a 1-0 result after Spirit forward Ashley Hatch scored the lone tally of the evening in the 64th minute.

Last Saturday, Seattle hosted the Chicago Red Stars at Memorial Stadium, playing to a scoreless draw. Reign FC then traveled to BBVA Compass Stadium for a Wednesday road fixture with the Houston Dash, where Veronica Latsko scored a 92nd minute game-winner to give the Dash a 2-1 victory.

Saturday marks the third meeting of the season between Sky Blue FC and Seattle, with Reign FC recording 1-0 (Yurcak Field) and 4-1 (Memorial Stadium) wins in those previous matches. Historically, Sky Blue FC leads the series with an overall record of 6-5-3, and the record in New Jersey is 5-1-2 in favor of Sky Blue FC.
