Tammy McConnell Was Formally Honored at NJYS Awards Dinner Presented by RWJBarnabas Health

New Jersey Youth Soccer recently hosted its 31st Annual NJYS Awards Dinner presented by RWJBarnabas Health, where many players, coaches and members of the soccer community were celebrated at the Pines Manor in Edison, N.J. One of the honorees that night was Tammy McConnell, who was selected as the 2018 NJYS Liesel Krehan Volunteer of the Year.

The Liesel Krehan Volunteer of the Year Award is given to an individual that serves as a great role model to the soccer community, demonstrating a willingness to promote the game of soccer though their actions and individual character.

“I am honored to receive this award from NJYS on behalf of all of the wonderful volunteers with whom I have worked over the years for Randolph Soccer Club,” said McConnell. “It is a pleasure to do what I can to provide playing opportunities for children, hopefully helping them to come to love ‘the beautiful game’ as much as I do.”

McConnell is an extremely active volunteer for Randolph Soccer Club, where she also serves as President. She is known for her vibrant and welcoming personality, and the way she conducts herself with such positivity is consistently applauded by players, coaches and parents throughout the club. Founded in 1971, Randolph Soccer Club is a non-profit organization that is made up of dedicated volunteers from the community. McConnell spearheads efforts to ensure that the club adheres to its mission of developing both individual and team skills while emphasizing good sportsmanship, athletic skills, leadership, character, teamwork and team spirit.
