The State of Tennessee continues to be very well represented at the US Youth Soccer (USYS) Southern Regional Championships, with a total of eight Tennessee State Soccer Association (TSSA) teams advancing into the semifinals of the regional tournament. The Southern Regional Championships feature the most accomplished US Youth Soccer teams in the Southern Region and are currently being hosted in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Six of the eight TSSA teams will be competing in semifinal action on Wednesday morning, while two teams from older age groups already played their semifinal matches on Tuesday. TSC Murfreesboro 05G Showcase (18U Girls) were narrowly defeated by Mighty Bluebirds 05G Wright (AR), 1-0, while NUSA 04 Boys Maroon fell to Florida Soccer Soldiers 2004 (FL) by the same tally yesterday. Prior to the semifinals, Tennessee kicked off its exceptional showing at the USYS Southern Regionals with 15 TSSA teams advancing past group play.

Teams competing at the Southern Regional Championships are seeking a berth to the 2023 US Youth Soccer National Championships, which will be hosted from July 17-23 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, Florida.
