Burt Now Serving as Senior Associate Pastor and New York Jets Chaplain
Trinity Financial, Sports & Entertainment Management Company, a division of Peter Grandich and Company, officially announced today that it has added 14-year National Hockey League (NHL) veteran and New York Jets chaplain Adam Burt to the Trinity Financial Advisory Board.
“I am most pleased to have Adam join us,” said Peter Grandich, owner of Peter Grandich Company and Trinity Financial, Sports & Entertainment Management Company. “In just a few short minutes of hearing Adam share his career and his faith, I knew what a blessing he would be to our organization. While I am no longer active in professional sports ministry (having served alongside the former New York Giants Chaplin George McGovern for 13 years), my ‘old’ love for the green and white was raised several notches after hearing from Adam about the work he is doing with the Jets and the community at large.”
As mentioned, Burt played 14 seasons in the NHL after being drafted by the Hartford Whalers in 1987. The former defenseman remained with the Whalers through their move to North Carolina in 1997, playing two more years with the franchise as the Carolina Hurricanes. After spending the following two seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers, Burt played his final NHL campaign with the Atlanta Thrashers in 2000-01. For his career, the Detroit native recorded 37 goals and 115 assists while also playing in 21 total playoff games.
“I am honored to be a part of the Trinity Financial Family,” said Burt. “Peter’s passion to help people and honor God is contagious and truly unique in the times we live.”
Since retiring from the NHL, Burt has become a Senior Associate Pastor with Every Nation NYC, serving as a Lead Pastor for their West Side and New Jersey services. Further, he has also been spreading the gospel as the official Chaplain of the New York Jets since 2009. Currently living in New Jersey, Burt has also remained a committed philanthropist throughout his lifetime.
