“All players work hard to make it to State Cup, and we wanted a way to recognize their hard work,” said Jeannie Louk, TSSA Director of Leagues and Programs. “It is so exciting to celebrate with the players, clubs and teams in their success. Congratulations to all!”
Champions at the Division 1 level of TSSA State Cup advanced to the US Youth Soccer (USYS) Eastern Regional Championships last month in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The USYS National Championships are now being conducted at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex in Orlando, where teams find themselves at the final stop in terms of their ambitions to become national champions. Representing Tennessee at the USYS National Championships are 2007 Lady Lobos Rush E64, 2004/05 Lady Lobos Rush E64, Germantown Lady Legends 08 Black, Pateadores 2008 Blue, NUSA 06G Maroon and Chattanooga Red Wolves 06G.
The USYS National Championship Series is the country’s most prestigious national youth soccer tournament, providing winners from each state the opportunity to showcase their soccer skills against the best competition in the nation while emphasizing teamwork, discipline and fair play.
Champions at the Division 2 level of TSSA State Cup continued onto regional play in the USYS Southern Presidents Cup in Greenville, South Carolina. Champions and finalists then advanced to the USYS National Presidents Cup earlier this month in Wichita, Kansas, where Tennessee Premier Lanus emerged as the 18U National Presidents Cup champions.
The USYS Presidents Cup provides a progressive and competitive environment to teams that might not otherwise get the opportunity to participate in a series of unique experiences highlighting competition, camaraderie and community.
In addition to Division 1 and Division 2 competitions, champions are also crowned at the Division 3 level of TSSA State Cup. Open to all member clubs and their teams, TSSA has hosted the Tennessee State Cup since 1976.
