Mainland United South Jersey FC 17U Boys, Den of Lions Gunners 15U Boys Represent NJYS in Competition

After four days of play, the 2018 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup concluded on Sunday in Westfield, Indiana. Representing New Jersey Youth Soccer in the tournament were Mainland United South Jersey FC 17U Boys and Den of Lions Gunners 15U Boys.

After group play, Mainland United South Jersey FC 17U Boys and Den of Lions Gunners 15U Boys both played in the third-place match for their respective age group. Mainland United South Jersey FC won their final fixture by a score of 1-0 over Chicago Rush 2001 Select, officially medaling in the competition with a third-place finish on an 87th minute game-winner. Den of Lions Gunners put on a spectacular performance against CVYSA (NC) Blast Blue in their third-place match-up, playing to a 2-2 draw before eventually falling in a penalty shootout.

Mainland United South Jersey FC 17U Boys placed two players on the 2018 US Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup Best XI for their age group, and Den of Lions Gunners 15U Boys saw three players earn Best XI accolades. Additionally, Den of Lions Gunners won the Fair Play Award for the 15U Boys Age Group.
